Last brewed in 2018, and brewed as early as 2009 (those were the oldest old labels we could find!), Homewood Reserve is very much a straight forward offering - it's a barrel-aged stout in every sense of the word.

But! It has a fairly moderate abv of just 7%, so while it won't knock you over the head with an extremely high abv, it will knock you over the head with flavor. Thick, with a dark, frothy head, you can expect a deep roastiness to emerge from this one that's tightly intertwined with an equally deep barrel character that we think accentuates the black strap molasses flavors and compliments the body those sugars bring.... But! Don't expect a sweet beer, as HWR is definitely not that.
