It's our 13th Annual #KEGRIDE!

It's time for LUCKY KEG RIDE NUMBER 13 folks.

(Because riding around on a bike with a full keg in tow ALWAYS feels lucky to us!)

THE RIDE: Since we opened back in 2005, we’ve been spreading the word about what it means to operate a near-zero waste, environmentally sustainable brewery. And we’ve been doing it by delivering the the very first PEDAL PALE ALE kegs of the season in a very unique way….BY BICYCLE.

On Saturday Morning, April 29th, 2017, East End Brewing will set off with a few kegs GOOD BEER and a few hundred of our closest GOOD FRIENDS in to, heading for a mystery destination where we will debut this years very first Pedal Pale Ale. The trip will be slow, meandering, and maybe a little surprising – especially the secret destination part.

WON'T YOU JOIN US?

For everyone that registers and rides, your first beer (and your glass) is on us. The more riders we have, the more beer we have to pull by bike!

THE PARTICULARS:

  • Date: Saturday, April 29th, 2017

  • Times: Check-in 9:30-10:30am, Departure 11am, Arrival 12-1pm

  • Starting Point: East End Brewing Co. 147 Julius St. Pgh, Pa 15206

  • Destination: You’ve gotta ride to find out!

  • Return trip: You’re on your own.

  • Distance: 6-11 miles Pace: Gentle, slow. Remember that part about pulling full kegs?

  • You'll get: a pint of PedalPaleAle (no substitutions please) and a commemorative #KegRide pint glass to keep it in... if only for a little bit.

  • You can also get: A #KegRide T-shirt for an extra $15 on top of your registration fee when you register, but only if you register before 4/1/2017.

  • Registration: Early Bird $20, Regular Registration $25. Early Bird registration will end on a mysterious date, without notice, so like don't delay, okay?

  • There is NO Day-of-Ride Registration.

  •  Registration ends the Friday before the event at noon. Sorry, no refunds or transfers. But if you can't make it, know that your funds will go to a good cause.

THE CAUSE: Danny Chew, a prominent member of Pittsburgh's Cycling Community and founder of The Dirty Dozen Race suffered a tragic bike accident earlier this past September, which left him paralyzed from the chest down. Proceeds from our ride will go to Danny, to help him out during this difficult time... and give him back just a little bit of what he's given to Pittsburgh over these many years.

WANNA PULL A KEG? Feeling strong and want to pull a full keg at the front of the ride? Email "nordy at east end brewing dot com" and for a $250 donation you can be King Keg for a day!

CAN KIDS COME? Yes. But be advised that this ride is on OPEN CITY STREETS.  And of course the kids don't get a beer at the end of the ride. Maybe a Root Beer though.

TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW: As you know, we do LOTS of events every year... Beer Dinners, Festivals, Volunteer Days, but this ride is probably my favorite event of the year.  It's a great excuse to get out on your bike with your GOOD FRIENDS for day of group riding, some good food, some good fun, some GOOD BEER, and of course a good cause.  So seriously, tell everyone you know about this.  The more people we have, the more money we will raise for our charity, and the more fun it will be.
See you on the ride!

Cheers, Scott
