KEGS FOR HOME USE:

So, you're ready for a bigger commitment? You've got 3 options:

1. BUY DIRECT: You can get kegs brewery-fresh, straight from the source. But to keep them so fresh, I don't keep a bunch sitting around here getting old, so we need to plan ahead a little. With a 3-4 day notice, we can put any "current beer" into any size keg you need - 1/2 1/4 1/6.   And even if it's a last minute thing, it's worth giving me a call to check what we've got.  You may just catch me on kegging day.

For a list of "current beers", check the "ON TAP at The Brewery" link for the current draft lineup.  There are certain beers we don't offer in keg form, but those are exceptions.

2. BUY NEXT-TO-DIRECT: You can pick up a keg from Vecenie Distributing. They're my "Master Distributor", so that means they keep the bulk of my stock in their coolers. Contact info and address for them can be found here, or you can just phone them at 412-821-4618.

3. BUY NOT-SO-DIRECT: Now that the guys at Vecenie are handling my distribution, they can deliver kegs of East End Brew to just about any local beer distributor in a couple of days - like that one right down the street from you. Call your local place and have them order it from Vecenie Distributing in Millvale.

KEG FACTS:

  • All our kegs have a ball-lock style fitting, also called "American Sanke", and are the most commonly used style today.
  • A half is 15.5 gallons, equal to about 7.5 cases of 12oz containers.
  • A quarter is 7.5 gallons, equal to about 3 cases + a 6 pack.
  • A sixtel is 5 gallons, equal to about 2 cases + a 6 pack.
  • Our sixtels are 25" high and 8.5" across.  We have shorter 23.5" sixtels now too, so specify tall or short if it matters to you.
  • Our tall quarters are 21.75" high and 12.5" across, and we have some that are 23.5" high.
  • Our halves are 23.5" high and 16" across.

KEG PRICING AND DEPOSITS:

  • Beer will be cold when you get it, and while we have taps, we do not carry ice or tubs.
  • Kegs may be picked up during our regular Growler Hours.
  • Taps and 1/6 barrel kegs have a $50 deposit, 1/4 and 1/2 barrel deposits are $100. I know these are kinda steep, but I just haven't been getting my kegs back, and it's costing me some dough. Of course, you get 100% of these deposits back when you return the gear to the brewery.
  • Please return your keg within a week of purchase.  If you're running it on a home draft system, we make an exception so you can keep it until you're done wih it.  But please know that your prompt return helps us tremendously, and the more kegs we have, the more beer we can make.
  • Lastly, WE NOW HANDLE CREDIT CARDS for beer and keg deposits.
  • HERE IS OUR KEG PRICE LIST.

Hit the Contact Page when you're ready to place your order - or just drop me a voice message on the main brewery line, and I'll call you back to confirm.

Cheers - Scott
